The Veterans Village
A secure community where resident veterans live, interact and receive the on-site support and training that prepares them to re-enter society as independent citizens.
If you had to draw a comparison, Veterans Village is most closely comparable to a private boarding school — one dedicated to taking veterans experiencing homelessness to independent, self-supporting, productive membership of society.
Who runs it
The management team is four people: an Executive Director, a Case Manager, a Volunteer Coordinator and a Property Manager.
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall operation of the Village, and is the face of Golden Isles Veterans Village to the public.
The Case Manager works directly with each resident veteran to create a personalised case plan, set goals, and help the veteran accomplish them.
The Volunteer Coordinator coordinates the efforts of the many volunteers who support the Village.

Community Center
The heart of the Village. It is where training, assessments and consultations take place, and equally where resident veterans gather and bond as a community.
Laundry Center
Conveniently located and accessible to all residents: three washing machines, three dryers, and supplies provided. The facility is reached by a numeric touch pad, and every resident is given an access code.
Commemorative Walkway
A walkway of personalised bricks and pavers runs from the two main gates to the Community Center. Each one carries a message chosen by the person who bought it. To become a permanent part of the Village, buy a brick.
A safe community
Security fencing surrounds the entire Village. There are three entry gates, each with an electrically activated locking system; the driveway gate opens to a pass code on a digital touch pad.
Strategically placed security cameras cover the property and buildings day and night. Each tiny home has an exterior light, and high-level lighting runs throughout the Village.
